2024 marks the 39th year since D. Hilton Associates began offering human resources consulting services to credit unions. In reflecting over nearly four decades, the industry has evolved significantly and prospered. However, those years were not without their challenges: the S&L Crisis, the collapse of Long-Term Capital Management, the Dot-Com bubble, the September 11th attacks, the Great Financial Crisis, the Pandemic, and subsequent massive rate increases to combat inflation. Despite these challenges, credit unions have consistently recognized the benefits of hiring great talent and building a compensation program that rewards and retains their valuable executives.
